1. Will I need a skin test?

No, because it has a biocompatible formulation. It will not produce a toxic or allergic response.

2. Are there any side-effects?

Very few have been reported, other than some common injection related reactions such as temporary swelling, itching, and discomfort at the injection site.

3. What if I am on medication?

Aspirin and some other medications thin the blood, and increase the chances of bruising, so this needs to be discussed with your practitioner

4. Does it hurt?

In our clinic, we use local anaesthetic blocks wherever possible to eliminate or minimise discomfort for our clients.

5. Is Radiesse permanent?

No. The gel carrier dissolves within a few months, and the microspheres are broken down through the body?s natural processes.

6. Will Radiesse become hard or noticeable to touch?

No. It stays soft and pliable and takes on the characteristics of the surrounding tissue.

7. How long will it last?

Between 18 months to 2 years, which can be affected by lifestyle, age, skin type and muscle activity.

8. When can I return to normal activities?

Most swelling or redness will have subsided within 24 hours of the injection. Some clients return to work immediately.
