EDS Rejuvenation is and advanced, electronic, micro-needling treatment which stimulates the skin to regenerate itself naturally, resulting in smoother, brighter, younger and healthier looking skin.
Professional skin-needling is an established clinically proven procedure and results in significantly improving the appearance of: acne scars, photo-damaged & ageing skin, facial and décolleté skin lines and wrinkles, stretch marks, open pores.
How it works
It is an electronic, micro-needling procedure that produces thousands of puncture columns in the skin. This stimulates the skin to naturally regenerate and repair itself. The needling encourages fibroblasts to produce new collagen, which results in smoother, brighter, younger, healthier looking skin.
After application of local anaesthetic, the EDS treatment is started. This produces localised controlled trauma which stimulate the natural dermal repair processes, leading to skin tightening and collagen remodelling. This process of creating thousands of microscopic holes in the skin causes the release of serum growth factors which stimulate new collagen and elastin production from the fibroblast cells in the skin.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are there any side-effects?
Immediately after treatment, the skin is red, like a sunburn, and slightly uncomfortable. Occasionally areas of bruising may occur, but this is temporary and unusual. The next day or two, there may be some mild skin peeling, and the skin may be a bit sensitive, so it is important to protect against any sun or UV rays. After day 2 or 3, the skin has usually returned to normal, but sun protection must be continued (see after care notes).
There is a small risk of infection, but again, this is very unusual.
There is a small risk of hyperpigmentation, after the procedure, and this risk is increased if the skin is not protected from the sun or UV rays.
How do I find the right Practitioner?
All of the staff at the Suffolk Medical & Beauty Clinic, led by Dr Anthony O’Neill and RGN Jenny O’Neill, are fully trained by the manufacturer, so you can be assured that you will get the best treatment available.
How long does it last?
A course of three treatments is recommended to achieve the best results, leaving about 6 weeks in between each treatment. The skin continues to improve in appearance for up to 6 months after finishing the treatments, when the long-lasting final result is visible. We would recommend a top up treatment every few months to maintain the results.
Pre and post treatment advice
Avoid any potentially irritating skincare products at least 3 days prior to treatment. e.g. Vitamin A serums. After treatment, avoid UV exposure (sun or sun beds) for at least 2 weeks, using SPF 50 daily during this period.
How safe is medical micro-needling?
It is a very safe procedure, when it is performed correctly by a qualified therapist. The micro-needling does penetrate the skin, but with proper pre and post care, and careful clean technique during the procedure, there is very little chance of complications occurring.
EDS is only available from trained medical practitioners and authorised clinics. It’s quality and safety are guaranteed. This is a professional treatment and should not be confused with home treatments.
Is it painful?
Topical anaesthetic cream is applied liberally to the treatment area for at least 30 minutes before the procedure. This makes the procedure usually quite comfortable, and some ‘prickling’ may be felt in more sensitive areas.
Is there anyone who shouldn’t have a medical micro-needling treatment?
Patients with active acne, skin infection and cold sores in the area to be treated shouldn’t have this treatment. Any other skin condition will have to be considered by the practitioner on an individual basis. It is not advisable during pregnancy or breast feeding.
When will I see the results?
The results should start to be noticeable from 3 months after the last of the three treatments has been performed.
Which areas of the body can be treated?
The most common areas to be treated are face and neck, and other areas where stretch marks may be apparent, e.g. thighs and abdomen.
Why would I consider having a medical micro-needling treatment?
To improve the appearance of acne scars
To improve the appearance of photo-damaged and ageing skin
To improve the appearance of facial and décolleté lines and wrinkles
To improve the appearance of stretch marks
